An August workshop was attended by lovely London based group if people...all of whom had a link with education ( myself included, being an Art teacher) . There was a lot to discuss and i recieved many compliments about the powerepoint and visual aids, as well as my teaching style! What fun we had on a rainy Saturday morning! A friendly group made up of locals and three women from east London. Having moved from east to south London a few years ago I'm not part of the 'don't cross the river' gang, I'm more ' you don't know till you try'! I just love London.
Anyway, I digress. I've adapted a PowerPoint with the history of terrariums as well as how they are self sufficient. I've included areas of botanical interest in and around London which was well received. It was great to hear recommendations in nearby Kent from my guests. Then it was down to business and all were pleased with their finished terrarium. As Beatrice said she 'felt satisfied that she'd been so productive on a Saturday morning'. My thoughts exactly! It was great to meet so many friendly locals at Hither Green Christmas fair last week. Mulled wine and music filled the air! Great way to start the festive season. Ben sold his London prints - @ladywellprints. We were also selling my dad's sculptures. Check them out on instagram @beyondstange
Lots of sign ups for the workshop in February too as well as a few commissions. Go to events / workshops to book one yourself. Fun was had by all at the October workshop within Archibald's cafe. The lovely crowd learnt about the history of terrariums and how to make their own to take home. There was lots of interest in making some for Christmas presents so make space now! If you would like to come along to the next workshop, drop me an email and I will let you know when the next one is being held. Hopefully this will be before Christmas.
